No Scotland? No Party!

Saturday, March 14, 2026 - 7:30 PM EST

Scottish Songs of Robert Burns Champion Rob Taylor returns to the Camel City Playhouse stage for a reworked version of his “Made in Scotland” concert experience. “No Scotland? No Party!” still features Scottish Traditionals, Folk Rock, Pop, Rock, and a taste of Scotland’s long musical comedy tradition, but after listening to audience feedback, Rob has worked in some more traditional music and some of the storytelling that made “Storyteller” such a success in 2024!

Interwoven with these Scottish songs are tales of Scotland’s great triumphs of invention and innovation as well as the country’s ongoing and inventive ways of snatching sporting defeat from the jaws of victory! In this FIFA World Cup year where Scotland makes a long awaited return to the stage with their base in Charlotte, find out what makes a long-suffering Scotland fan keep coming back for more, and why (outside the sporting realm) Scottish national pride is well earned!

Come join Rob for an eclectic evening of songs and stories.

The Full Monty

Mar 19, 2026 - Mar 29, 2026

Based on the Oscar-nominated film of the same name, this musical adaptation trades Sheffield, England for Buffalo, NY where six unemployed steelworkers, low on both cash and prospects, decide to present a strip act at a local club after seeing their wives’ enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales. As they prepare for the show, working through their fears, self-consciousness, and anxieties, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie.

The show had its world premiere at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego before moving to Broadway for a run of 770 performances. It later played on London’s West End. Nominated for 10 Tony Awards and winner of a Drama Desk Award for Best Music, this show has since been performed in two dozen countries on five continents over the past two decades.

In The Next Room (Or The Vibrator Play)

Apr 30, 2026 - May 10, 2026

Set in the 1880s at the dawn of the age of electricity in a seemingly perfect, well-to-do Victorian home, proper gentleman and scientist Dr. Givings has innocently invented an extraordinary new device for treating “hysteria” in women (and occasionally men): the vibrator. Adjacent to the doctor’s laboratory, his young and energetic wife Catherine tries to tend to their newborn daughter and wonders exactly what is going on in the next room. When a new “hysterical” patient, Sabrina, and her husband bring a wet nurse and their own complicated relationship into the doctor’s home, Dr. and Mrs. Givings must examine the nature of their own marriage and what it truly means to love someone.

Dealing with themes of Victorian ignorance of female sexual desire, motherhood, breastfeeding, and jealousy, the play premiered at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in February 2009, and it premiered on Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater in October 2009. The production was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and was nominated for three Tony Awards, including Best Play.
